I'm running natty with a kernel from oneiric just to have things working
a bit better.

No, I'm not trying to report another issue. It's the same problem with
the graphics driver and/or Firefox. This time it just crashes X and the
kernel keeps running. The problem is not reproducible with Chromium,
which I'm currently happily using.

And no, I won't upgrade to oneiric, because GNOME 3  is completely
crippled and "an unholy mess" (Torvalds, 2011).

This bug report is on an ancient Ubuntu version, and the newer ones have
much more catastrophic issues to worry about, so on my behalf "you may
close the ticket" :)
