I'm running natty with a kernel from oneiric just to have things working a bit better.
No, I'm not trying to report another issue. It's the same problem with the graphics driver and/or Firefox. This time it just crashes X and the kernel keeps running. The problem is not reproducible with Chromium, which I'm currently happily using. And no, I won't upgrade to oneiric, because GNOME 3 is completely crippled and "an unholy mess" (Torvalds, 2011). This bug report is on an ancient Ubuntu version, and the newer ones have much more catastrophic issues to worry about, so on my behalf "you may close the ticket" :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777404 Title: Kernel Oops - BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at 000000000007a86c; RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff81113671>] [<ffffffff81113671>] get_page_from_freelist+0x201/0x650 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/777404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
