it depends on when and where will the patch be accepted into the kernel source upstream. the kernel will continue receiving updates in ubuntu after every minor release from upstream, but if the patch doesn't get released till say, version 3.2, and ubuntu is shipping 3.1, the patch won't show up. so we'll see. in the meantime, let's make sure we're al taking about the same bug here. i'll post the patch in this thread, can people subscribed to this report compile their kernels with this patch and verify it fixes their problem?
