*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***
Public security bug reported:
(For those that don't know, BST (British Summer Time) = UTC+1)
james@james-ThinkPad-X60-Tablet:~$ date; sudo hwclock
Sun Apr 1 17:02:32 BST 2012
Sun 01 Apr 2012 16:02:29 BST -0.922465 seconds
I'd expect to see:
Sun 01 Apr 2012 16:02:29 UTC -0.922465 seconds
Unless the hardware clock is in localtime due to dual boot with you know what:
Sun 01 Apr 2012 17:02:29 BST -0.922465 seconds
I think that issues with time can potentially cause or trigger serious bugs
elsewhere. I'm going to mark this as a security vulnerability just-in-case.
** Affects: util-linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Visibility changed to: Public
