Public bug reported:

My system stops responding sometimes. its just a week since i have
installed 12.04 beta 2 and it happened almost 3 times. i have to press
power button for few seconds to shut it down. and then have to again
start it. i noticed that this may probably because of power change in
system. I use laptop and when battery starts charging it sometimes
happens or when discharges and reaches to some threshold (reaches red
mark, that is low, not 'critically low'). I dont know I am right or not.
i just noticed it.
