Hi! I tried your suggestion (modify the GSetteings database of lightdm user), but I did not manage to succeed. I always get error using gsettings in the command line.
administrator@Precise-VM:~$ sudo su -s /bin/sh lightdm [sudo] password for administrator: $ gsettings get com.canonical.unity-greeter draw-grid true $ gsettings set com.canonical.unity-greeter draw-grid false ** (process:6626): WARNING **: La ligne de commande « dbus-launch --autolaunch=fd63462a3efbe1fa0dab4b4a00000004 --binary-syntax --close- stderr » s'est terminée avec un code de fin non nul 1 : No protocol specified\nNo protocol specified\nAutolaunch error: X11 initialization failed.\n ** (process:6626): WARNING **: La ligne de commande « dbus-launch --autolaunch=fd63462a3efbe1fa0dab4b4a00000004 --binary-syntax --close-stderr » s'est terminée avec un code de fin non nul 1 : No protocol specified\nNo protocol specified\nAutolaunch error: X11 initialization failed.\n $ Any other idea? I must agree with you: this seems to bring more problems/difficulties than easiness to configure unity-greeter's behavior. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971158 Title: Overlay Grid is not disabled when modifying unity-greeter.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/971158/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
