Public bug reported:

I have installed java from the repository. The JAVA_HOME defined in
/etc/init/jenkins was not correctly defined for my setup.

It was:
env JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/default-java"

I had to change it to:
env JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre"

The package should depend on default-jre but it was not installed when i
installed jenkins? I had eclipse installed that provided me with the
java-6-openjdk java runtime probably?

** Affects: jenkins (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
