I have narrowed it down and believe I know what is causing it.

TB is not hanging permanently, but it will take several minutes to
recover. Here's how you can re-create the issue:

create a very large text file, for example a backup of a mysql database (sql,
plain text). I was able to replicate this with less than 100K records in a csv
file.
Attach it to a email and send it to yourself.
open it. try to reply or forward.
your cpu should max out for several minutes trying to process the message.

Assuming that the processing/display of the message is causing this, a
quick fix for this could be:

- treat both SQL and CSV files as actual attachments, and do not try to show
them in-line in messages.
- add other types of files that could be extremely large

I can't attach any of our data for this bug because of company
restrictions, so I apologize for that.
