** Description changed:

After closure of #370173 because of "no longer supported series" I'm
reopening this bug because it affects me using Natty.

  Description: Ubuntu 11.04
  Release: 11.04

After cold booting the system, the fan does not start cooling the CPU at
any point, so it goes beyond 75 C (monitored with gkrellm). At some
point, the system hangs completely, and I have to power cycle the laptop
(during the subsequent BIOS boot the fan starts at full speed)

Seeing this problem as reported on #370173, on a Toshiba Satellite L515 with
Ubuntu 11.04, insyde H20 BIOS (latest version)
  Things to note:

  1) It wasn't happening on 10.10, only after upgrading to 11.04
  2) If I wait until the CPU heats up and then reboot, the fan starts working
at full speed and continues to do so until shutdown, even with temperatures
around 31 C. I have tried the "wait 30 seconds inside GRUB after cold start
before booting the OS", but it didn't work (guess it wasn't enough temp buildup
for the fan to start)
