The upgrade-manager specifically said it was disabling 3rd-party repositories for the upgrade. All 3rd-party repositories are currently disabled. My sources-list now point to Feisty repositories, despite the process having been aborted. It warned the system might be in an unstable state.
Anyway, I ran synaptic, and removed one broken package, to do with HP printing, since I don't have an HP printer anyway. I re-ran the installer CD, which has previously been verified. This time there were less packages to fetch and install, so presumably some packages were successfully installed and not reverted; it failed previously during the Configuration phase. This time around though, it went to fetch the 1118 packages. but in the end failed with MD5 sum errors. I might try a 3rd time, just to see what happens, though I have to go to bed and cannot wait for it to finish. ** Attachment added: "dist-upgrade 2nd try" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8006783/dist-upgrade2.tar.gz -- Edgy > Feisty Alt CD upgrade update-manager fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
