Public bug reported:
This bug report is being filed with Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 2, though it was
also present on 11.10 with latest updates.
The issue is usually reproducible by snapping a window to the edge of
the screen (so that the window utilizes half of the screen) and then
clicking on the maximize button for the snapped window. The window
jumps up, hiding the title bar, and does not maximize.
Interestingly, the same issue does not appear when right-clicking on the
title bar of the snapped window and choosing 'Maximize'; the issue only
appears when clicking on the Maximize window control in the corner of
the window (but if the context menu option is chosen, restoring the
window restores it to a state where the title bar is hidden beneath the
top panel).
