Hello Paddy. This sounds like a duplicate of bug 652914. If yad is a
non-desktop app, then there should be a "Show N Technical Items" link at
the bottom left of the Ubuntu Software Center window. If you see that
there, please click it and the yad package should show up.
If this occurs and you can successfully view the package, please let me
know and we can close this bug. If it doesn't, please let me know that
as well. :)
