How to reproduce:
1) Start geany
2) Write abcd in a new document
3) Select "Replace" in "Search" menu.
4) Write \s* in Search field
5) Check "regular expression"
6) Click on "Select all" to reveal buttons.
7) Select "in document".
8) Geany will stop responding.
