The problem went away when I dropped my laptop. After I dropped my laptop, the thing failed to boot (just like Bug #43745). So, I took the BIOS battery out for a minute and put it back in, and then GRUB worked like it normally should.
So, this bug has something to do with GRUB depending on the RTC... is there a way to check whether or not the RTC is working?
