The problem went away when I dropped my laptop.

After I dropped my laptop, the thing failed to boot (just like Bug
#43745). So, I took the BIOS battery out for a minute and put it back
in, and then GRUB worked like it normally should.

So, this bug has something to do with GRUB depending on the RTC... is
there a way to check whether or not the RTC is working? Even if it's a
busy-loop that measures how long it takes the RTC to change...
