Ok, sorry for the mpg321. Concerning video preview, I thought you were asking for "live preview" : watch a part of the video when you put your mouse on the icon as for mp3 preview. I think you might solve your problem quicker if you ask your question here : https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ . It aims more at support so it would be perfect for your request.
