Hi Matteo! Thank you for your suggestion. In fact, this has been requested in the past by others as well. However, in usability studies and by the design criteria of the Ubuntu Software Center designer, it was decided that it is better to show the user *how* they can launch their newly launched app via the recommended (and standard) way, which is by using the Unity launcher. This is much preferable from a usability standpoint that have two completely seperate methods for launching applications.
If you'd like to read further, this design is specified here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#Learning_how_to_launch_an_application And this has been implemented now in Precise. So, based on this, I will close this one now. Thank you again! ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/765728 Title: [wishlist] 'Launch' button for installed software To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/765728/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
