I am testing Lubuntu 12.04 i386 daily build. I found a bug that crashes mplayer in IBM Thinkpad T41 and Dell Dimension 4600 both without sse3.
But it works in my machines with multiple and 64-bit cpus. One of them also lacks sse3: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ capabilities: boot fpu fpu_exception wp vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp x86-64 3dnowext 3dnow extd_apicid pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm extapic cr8_legacy 3dnowprefetch So maybe there is some other bug too ... This is the output of mplayer: -- MPlayer interrupted by signal 4 in module: read_subtitles_file - MPlayer crashed by an 'Illegal Instruction'.
