Same problem here.
I get:
rpcbind: rpcbind terminating on signal. Restart with "rpcbind -w"
and afterwards
Killing all remaining processes... [failed]
Running Ubuntu Oneiric 11.10 (with LXDE) on Dell Studio XPS 1640 laptop.
Any solution/workaround?
