Public bug reported:

When opening the File dialog in Chromium-browser (e.g. when attaching a file in
webmail) the shares mounted with GVFS is not shown on the left side of the file
dialog as with other Ubuntu applications.
I see this as a usability bug to not have easy access to GVFS mounted shares in
such common package as chromium-browser. Others might see this as a feature
request.

See also the discussion at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1460716.
The work around is to show hidden files in the file open dialog and then go to
.gvfs and enter the mounted share. This is not logical and extremely bad
usability.

This applies to Ubuntu 11.10, chromium-browser
18.0.1025.142~r129054-0ubuntu0.11.10.1
