Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

The installation fails on both the standard installation and the
alternation installation distributions. The issue revolves around the
installer's scripting once the chipset type has been reported back to it
by the hardware. When queried, the chipset reports a string that
contains both p965 and 965g. The installer completely ignores the
chipset's contention that it might be a p965, and just assumes it is a
965g. The 965g has built-in graphics using agp. Once udev goes in to
further investigate these particulars, the installation hangs.

I reported this previously for Kubuntu/Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn in both
Launchpad and on the forums including how to fix the problem. The fix
is: four modules need to be blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d, agp agpgart
amd64_agp & intel_agp. Simply providing the cheat-code "noagp" to the
kernal when booting does not work, and in the case of my system
generates a spontaneous reboot.

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
