Public bug reported:
I get no splash screen, just a black screen while the system is loading,
until the login screen is ready.
If I remove the splash option in menu.lst, the system loads ok and I can
see the boot messages, but the mouse doesn't work!
(I am experimenting with this because I have suspend/resume problems)
