I had a look at your DpkgTerminalLog.gz file. It seems that you removed
cacti twice. The first time it removed the database successfully. Then
you installed cacti, and I assume you then didn't have the database
created. The second time removal failed because it was there was no
database.

So the problem is, where did it go wrong in your experience? I agree
things should "just work", but for database management this needs
careful attention during installation.
