** Description changed: - I have upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 and I have installed xfce4-session. - When closing my laptop lid it suspended so I modified the power - management preferences with xfce4-power-manager-settings. But even after - a restart the preference was not effective, i.e. closing my laptop lid - still lead my pc to suspend instead of blanking screen. So I logged in - with the default session (either GNOME, or Ubuntu or Ubuntu 2D session) - and I saw that the power management said "when lid is closed" -> - "Suspend". I have changed that and now when I close my lid it blanks + I have upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 and I have installed + xfce4-session.
