I've just updated the package cache once again and it finally works. But
just before the update the apt-cache policy was looking like this
root@localhost:~$ apt-cache policy qemu-common
qemu-common:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 1.0+noroms-0ubuntu11
Version table:
1.0+noroms-0ubuntu11 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages
I still believe that this problem has something to do with a package
missing in the repository. However I'll change the bug's status to
"Invalid". Thank you.
