Public bug reported:

Each time I open Synaptic Package Manager in Ubuntu2D, the password
dialog comes up, and then immediately loses focus.

Someone not recognizing this, could continue typing their password
(inadvertently) into whatever application DOES have focus. Because of
this, this could be considered a security related bug.
