Hi! Thank you for building the debdiff with the fixes for this bug.
The "gdm" package uses the "cdbs" patch management system (you can check
what patch system is in use with scripts like this[1]). For this
debdiff to be accepted, it will need to be changed to use cdbs, so that
a new file appears in the debian/patches/ directory. This will make
sure that there are no changes outside of debian/ for this package.
