Hi, System slowed to a crawl and the boot took a couple minutes. Ended up with a grey screen. May have been something that did not go correctly on the install process. I'm not sure. The wireless driver also seemed to go not play well with 3.4.0. Was able to get into gnome shell. Sort of. After restarting ther box a couple times to get the grub menu up (annoying!) and regress to a previous kernel, which told me I was loading up 11.10 (?) One getting up, noted there was another update to the 3.2.x (along with all the sundry bits) which was automatically installed. Removed 3.4.0-030400rc2 and repaired GRUB.
Haven't had a problem (so far) with 3.2.0-23.36 -generic but will keep this in mind. Thanks for your time. Sorry this wasn't more use. -D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978189 Title: general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/978189/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
