linux-crashdump is a meta-package that will install : - kexec-tools - makedumpfile - crash - libdw1 - linux-crashdump
While this is not a single package, it does fulfill one single requirement which is to allow Ubuntu Server to generate diagnostic data upon a kernel panic. Making a task out of this seems like the less intrusive and most easily implemented way of suggesting installation of the crash dump mechanism upon install, but I'm totally available to other suggestions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/979760 Title: Add Linux Crashdump to tasksel for server install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tasksel/+bug/979760/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
