** Description changed: What happens is, when I go to shut my lid on my laptop, the computer goes into suspend, as it would normally, for 1 second. Then, the computer immediately wakes up, however, the screen is still black, it's only when I shake the mouse that the login screen appears. What's going on? Close the lid, laptop goes into suspend for a second, then immediately, the lights on the laptop go from saying its suspending to saying its awake. The laptop should suspend and only resume when I open the lid again, but it just resumes automatically after 2 seconds. If I were to guess, the kernel might be causing problems here. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L755. Running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2, recently upgraded. + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu1 + Architecture: i386 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: CONEXANT Analog [CONEXANT Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: michael 2024 F.... pulseaudio + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'PCH'/'HDA Intel PCH at 0xc0600000 irq 43' + Mixer name : 'Intel CougarPoint HDMI' + Components : 'HDA:14f15069,1179fc52,00100302 HDA:80862805,1179fc50,00100000' + Controls : 24 + Simple ctrls : 11 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=7175a96c-e82c-443c-ae4e-36e95586d125 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release i386 (20111012) + MachineType: TOSHIBA Satellite L755 + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-22-generic-pae root=UUID=92edc270-5c7b-4e23-9444-b5706138de85 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-22.35-generic-pae 3.2.14 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.2.0-22-generic-pae N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.2.0-22-generic-pae N/A + linux-firmware 1.78 + RfKill: + 0: phy0: Wireless LAN + Soft blocked: no + Hard blocked: no + SourcePackage: linux + StagingDrivers: mei + Tags: precise staging precise staging + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-22-generic-pae i686 + UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-04-11 (1 days ago) + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare + dmi.bios.date: 11/21/2011 + dmi.bios.vendor: INSYDE + dmi.bios.version: 2.90 + dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag + dmi.board.name: Base Board Product Name + dmi.board.vendor: Intel Corp. + dmi.board.version: Base Board Version + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Tag + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: OEM Chassis Manufacturer + dmi.chassis.version: OEM Chassis Version + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnINSYDE:bvr2.90:bd11/21/2011:svnTOSHIBA:pnSatelliteL755:pvrPSK1WU-0KF048:rvnIntelCorp.:rnBaseBoardProductName:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnOEMChassisManufacturer:ct10:cvrOEMChassisVersion: + dmi.product.name: Satellite L755 + dmi.product.version: PSK1WU-0KF048 + dmi.sys.vendor: TOSHIBA -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/979464 Title: Auto resume from suspend inToshiba Satellite L755.
