Thank you for taking your time to report this bug to make Ubuntu better.

** Summary changed:
- Display on external monitor reverts to double display at restart
+ Display on external monitor reverts to mirror display on restart and logout
** Description changed:
I'm sorry I don't know what package this is related to.
Edit: Thank you Fabio Marconi for identifying the package.
My problem is that the system doesn't remember my display configuration when
I reboot my netbook.
I have an external monitor plugged to my laptop, and I use this monitor as my
principal and only display (laptop screen not used). But when I restart my
computer, even though the screen stays plugged in, the display goes back to
"same image on both monitors". I have to use the shortcut "Fn + F4" to go back
to my preferred configuration every time I boot up my computer.
Steps to reproduce:
- 1. Plug in external monitor with VGA
- 2. Choose the external monitor as your main and only monitor
- 3. Reboot
+ 1. Plug in external monitor with VGA, HDMI port
+ 2. Choose the external monitor as your main and only monitor or as an
extended display.
+ 3. Reboot or log off.
4. The display configuration is back to "same image on both monitors"
Expected behaviour:
The system should remember the user's favourite display configuration for a
better work-flow. A lot of people use their laptop as a desktop with a bigger
monitor plugged into it.
