What does:
$ ls -l /var/lib/apt-xapian-index/index
and
$ cat /var/lib/apt-xapian-index/index
and
$ ls -l $(cut -f2 /var/lib/apt-xapian-index/index)
ouput to the terminal? Can you please attach that here?
