Unless the update is non-automatic (e.g. a backport), presenting the ability to update the package from USC seems rather misleading to me. It suggests that by not choosing to update it, you will keep the current version, but that isn't correct. It's quite likely that Update Manager will install the update a few days later, without you even realizing what exactly is being updated.
Therefore, I think that while non-automatic updates should be offered in the software item screen <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter #multiple-versions>, automatic updates should not. So in this particular case, there should just be a "Remove" button. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#software-item-screen-state- installed> -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/976525 Title: Unable to remove software with update available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/976525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
