Public bug reported:
I have not been able to figure out what the pattern is, but occasionally
I will be on one workspace and click on the launcher tile for an app
that is on another. When I do that, the window from the other workspace
gets re-placed somewhere on my current desktop, *usually* to a place
where I can't get to it. It often seems to place it *under* the mouse
cusor (and thus under the launcher. Anyway, usually I see the window fly
by from the other workspace to wherever it gets placed. I can do Super+W
and see the thumbnail of the window, but if I click on it, it doesn't
come into view, and I can't drag it anywhere. Clicking on the launcher
tile doesn't do anything either. All I can do is close the app by
killing it or right-clicking and closing it via the launcher.
It's very frustrating :)
I'm pretty sure I started seeing this when I moved to 12.04
