Public bug reported:

Will not start in full screen mode. Settings set to full screen with
proper screen resolution selected. Unity 3d taskbar and launcher present
blocking info. Cannot interact with Launcher, it is there for show only.
"xbmc -fs" also did not work. It functioned corrected in the past few
days but today this issue has presented itself. Ubuntu 12.04 all up to
date as of a couple hours ago.
