This appears to be a memory corruption issue -- as the subject suggests, this is happening deep inside the memory allocator, in this case when called by glib's slab allocator.
JD, thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Precise Pangolin. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . If the crash persists in Precise, please answer these questions: * Is this reproducible? * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Thanks again and we appreciate your help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/864932 Title: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in memalign() while adding a new timezone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-datetime/+bug/864932/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
