I have been running Ubuntu 11.10 for a few weeks now, with the USB- parallel cable cotinuing to work. Seeing the above request, I put the parallel PCI card back in and tried to set up the printer, which is what froze the machine under Ubuntu 10.10.
I am happy to report that nothing untoward happened under or after the setup procedure. Unfortunately, I have mislaid my parallel-printer cable, and cannot confirm that the printer actually will print anything. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/769896 Title: Setting up parport printer freezes machine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/769896/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
