Hi :) Both. But the more important thing is their reasoning. I might not take the 1st choice of either because our requirements might be completely different or their reasons seem contrary to what i'm looking for (ie neither expensive racers nor mountain bikes are ideal for riding around a fairly flat town to get into work in the morning but might be great on holiday or if the morning run is longer or hillier).
The neighbour might be more useful if he/she let me test-drive. The acknowledged expert might not have time to share any wisdom.
