Dear Mr. Penalver, I'm afraid that since reporting this bug I've upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04, and I no longer experience this problem. I had a little trouble with suspend when I first began using 12.04 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power- manager/+bug/962617), but that problem seems to have been resolved by an update over the course of the last month.
