Hmm, the stack traces in these two cases differ. The latter one indicates a general protection oops in the kernel hit by kworker. The former shows a page fault that has something to do with apparmor hit by Xorg. It does seem coincidental that they both occurred after upgrading, and they could have the same root cause, but I think they should be handled as separate issues until proven as dupes. So please file a separate bug about the kworker crash (and just ref # here).
For the Xorg crash, are you able to ssh into the laptop after it has frozen? If so, please collect a full backtrace on this crash - see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for guidance. If you can't, then that suggests it's a lower down kernel fault. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980407 Title: Xorg freeze after connecting VGA monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/980407/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
