This change was made on purpose. As you noted, on previous Ubuntu versions, jockey naively offered nvidia drivers on optimus/hybrid systems even when they didn't work. This borked many systems. Now, jockey does not offer nvidia drivers on systems with intel drivers loaded: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jockey/+bug/885204
Please look into the bumblebee project if you want support for using the nvidia GPU.
