I'm running 12.04 LTS and MythTV .25. Intel Sandy Bridge with SPDIF
out.

If I use ALSA, it works in two channel mode with 0.1 second pauses every
3 seconds. Nothing in the logs indicate a problem.

If I use the HW Digital Out or IEC958, the audio will play properly for
about 5 seconds and the my receiver would toggle between Dolby Digital
and normal as if it can't get a lock on the signal stream. There's no
sound while it's hunting. It's an MythTV issue because I can play a DD
wav just fine with aplay. I've tried pretty much all of the
combinations in Setup -> Audio to no avail.
