Public bug reported:

The kernel crashes when I boot the April 16, 2012 daily build of the
12.04 live CD on my tower computer.

It happens when running the installer. If I boot straight into the
installer ("Install Ubuntu") the screen simply freezes; if I boot into
the live CD then run the installer I get a text-mode kernel traceback.
The crash happens after pressing "Continue" after the second pane of the
install wizard (the pane offering "Download updates while installing"
and "Install the Fluendo MP3 decoder").

Manually transcribing some important-looking bits of the traceback:

----

I've previously installed Ubuntu on this computer. (I'm reinstalling
because it's the only workaround I know for bug #975061.)

The computer has four active partitions: /, /boot, swap, and /home.
/boot is ext2 and on a small SATA SSD; all other partitions are btrfs
and on an OCZ PCIe RevoDrive. (There are additional unused partitions
on the RevoDrive.)
