Yesterday I ran into the same conditions (unexpected longer time away
from computer, without any provisions related to that) without any
deliberate change of the system, and did *not* observe the error I
reported before. I deliberately checked a 2nd time with a similar "test
setup", and once again encountered no USB mouse hang.
Therefore I am somewhat puzzled whether the reported bug is as
determinstic as thought when I committed it. For the time being I'd
suggest you to put it into the back of your minds and persecute the case
only if a 2nd similar bug should be reported.
