This still appears to be the case two years on in 12.04! To be Precise (see what I did there?? Oh, never mind...) I was using the Alternative Beta 2 installation because I am using Intel Fake RAID (though that in itself is broken!) - during the setup process:
Select A Language ... Select Your Location. United Kingdom is shown. Select instead Europe, then Guernsey. Configure Locales United States is shown. Change to United Kingdom. Configure Keyboard English UK is shown. The time locale is determined to be correct, GMT / London / Guernsey later on in the installer. This also relates to other Channel Islands of Jersey, Alderney (the smaller islands of Sark and Herm) and possibly Isle of Man. For reference, I reported this to Team FreeBSD and they resolved it, should you need to crib some notes from them. Best regards - and looking forward to 12.04 officially being released, and the subsequent Mythbuntu spin-off. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/562640 Title: "Guernsey" being chosen automatically sets USA keyboard layout instead of UK.
