Update: I installed latest v3.3 kernel as instructed and as before i had a problem with the install, I think its to do with building the broadcom driver. Anyway, I got borrowed an ethernet cable and connected to the internet since the wireless was not working. I went through a typical usage sessing and tried to shutdown and it worked. I repeated this 2 more times and each time is did power the computer of properly.
So may be it has been fixed in the latest v3.3 kernel. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/983384 Title: Ubuntu hangs on Shutdown and Reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/983384/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
