Sorry to hear you got a gpu freeze on your first ubuntu update
experience, that really sucks.
We do have some troubles with gpu lockups in certain circumstances, and
are working on investigating them as a high priority.
Unfortunately in this particular case apport didn't collect a valid GPU
error state (all the registers just show 0's), so we can't analyze this
particular case.
However, the use case you describe is a good one we should include in
our testing. I will add it to our testing todo list, thanks!
