well, never actually found a way on how to fix it, but I installed a different video card on my PC and configured it through nano on the command prompt, so when I actually got video on the new device, all of the sudden I was able to see the loading splash screen.
The problem was under ubuntu edgy and video device intel 82845GV video card (integrated).
