the reason is that it's a very nice django module to use celery: "Celery is an asynchronous task queue/job queue based on distributed message passing"[1]. i'm already using django-celery in a project but it would be nice to be able to install django-celery with apt-get instead of pip[2]. i think there's very low risk to sync the package.
