I did have a look upstream, and their answer doesn't seem too helpful. As long as the script employed by HAL does not work for all configurations out there (and it doesn't; otherwise, I wouldn't have a reason to install hibernate) and there is an alternative available, the bug is there and wishing it weren't isn't going to fix the problem.
The script the g-p-m developer favorus, pm-suspend, doesn't work for me. Hibernate does. Unless a patch against pm-suspend (and the HAL script) is available, I think the bug should be reopened. When the One True Script that works for everyone finally is discovered, we can forget about this; until then, this remains an issue for many people. -- hibernate script not used by HAL in standard Dapper install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/49282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
