Public bug reported:
Trying a spin of the Alternative Beta 2 installation (because I am using
Intel Fake RAID, guided by other posts saying this is the edition to use
for such) - and during the setup process:
Select A Language ... Select Your Location.
United Kingdom is shown. Select instead Europe, then Guernsey.
Configure Locales
United States is shown. Change to United Kingdom.
Configure Keyboard
English UK is shown.
The time locale is determined to be correct, GMT / London / Guernsey
later on in the installer.
Guernsey ("Bailiwick of Guernsey", the official title, incorporating
neighbouring islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm) is a Commonwealth and
collectively along with Jersey ("Bailiwick of Jersey") are part of the
Channel Islands, not Europe. So possibly a further sugestion is that of
creating a "Channel Islands" main option containing the individual major
islands (Guernsey, Jersey, possibly Alderney) in place of "Europe" as it
is currently?
I tried the Desktop edition and Guernsey selects UK correctly. I will
check Server edition in due course and report back.
Many thanks to you all for your excelent work with Ubuntu, and best
regards - looking forward to 12.04 officially being released, and the
subsequent Mythbuntu spin-off.
