Was it even an intentional change that caused this? A couple of months
ago I added some extra PPAs in Oneiric so I could upgrade from the GIMP
PPA, and the dark menus broke in exactly the same way that they are now
broken in Precise. The extra PPAs were gnome-shell-centric, so I assumed
at the time that something had changed upstream in Gnome that broken
dark menus in Ubuntu.
